Long time no update! What I've been baking...

I haven't been here in a while - but that's a good thing! I've been baking cupcakes!

I've done another birthday party, this time the theme was sock monkey. So cute.

I made the toppers myself, and I think they turned out pretty great!

Here's the next thing I did - a Bridal Shower. The theme was purple, white and bling. The flavors are Purple Velvet with White Chocolate Buttercream and Vanilla with Vanilla Buttercream, tinted dark purple. They looked great!

For Easter, being a cupcake maker, I had to make Easter-themed cupcakes. My inlaws had already requested Peanut Butter Cup cupcakes, but I wanted to make something new. So I tried a Cadburry Egg cupcake... and boy, was it good.

The center was a mini Cadburry Egg, and the top was a vanilla buttercream, I frosted to look like an egg. People were in love, hah! They turned out tasting WAY better than I had expected.

I love when that happens. ;)

I also got a new phone case! It, of course, has a cupcake on it:

And I googled around and found a promo code, so I got $5 off. Makes it extra sweet!

Last but not least, we had a 30 hour famine fundraiser at church. The teens in the youth group were raising money for children in Africa who have little or nothing to eat. They went 30 hours without eating, and at the end, we cooked up African themed food, and of course, cupcakes.

They are zebra cakes (white and chocolate vanilla cake layered in the cups, to create a zebra cake) with jungle grass, and chocolate jungle animal suckers in the tops. The kids raved, and it was for a good cause!

French Toast & a third time customer!

New flavor! It's a French Toast cupcake, with a Maple glaze, topped with Maple buttercream & bacon sprinkles!

I also had a third time customer! That's a good sign. :)

A new flavor... Thin Mint!

I'm not a Thin Mint fan. There, I said it. I don't like mint chocolate chip ice cream, either. All that stuff reminds me of toothpaste! Bleck.

However, being a baker, I'm all about pleasing others... so without further ado, I present to you, the Thin Mint Cupcake:

Chocolate Thin Mint cake with Mint Buttercream, topped with Thin Mint crumbles and a Junior Mint.. because it needed a topper. ;)

Another sale and another birthday!

I had an order for 20 peanut butter cup cupcakes for my friend Meagan's husbands birthday.. They are still everyone's favorite!

Since we were going to a birthday party that night for our friend Luther, I made cupcakes for him too. The peanut butter cup and I made a batch of Cookies & Cream, because.. those are everyones other favorite. And they are my favorite, haha.

Becky's Birthday - and a new flavor!

Last weekend was my friend Becky's birthday party. As her present, I made her PB cup and Strawberries & Cream cupcakes. Everyone knows about the PB cup, but these Strawberry ones are.. amazing.

Fresh Strawberry Cupcakes with homemade whip cream filling, topped with Strawberry Buttercream and a fresh strawberry slice. Yum.

The filling was purple, lol, because that's Becky's favorite color. Hence the liners and sprinkles. :)

Cupcakes for my Sami...

I have this friend, Kristi, and her daughter Sami. Adorable people, really. So Kristi and I decided a long while ago that because her and her fam (husband, daughter & son) don't have any family in Ohio, that I would adopt them. So I have. LOL. Sami is under the weather right now, but her cure seems to be cupcakes.

She wanted Cookies and Cream ones. I wasn't a fan of the chocolate ones, so I used my Vanilla Butter Cake recipe, and chopped up some Oreo's and threw those in. I put a double stuff Oreo on the bottom and filled them 2/3'rds with batter, and baked them. SO much tastier. Oreo Buttercream on top, with a mini Oreo. Adorable and just what the doctor ordered!

A motorcycle birthday..

One of Shawn's employees, shes adorable, anyways.. One of them ordered 20 PB cup, 10 vanilla & 10 chocolate for her son's birthday. On the vanilla and chocolate, we decided to do teeny chocolate motorcycles... I had never molded chocolate before, but I'm pretty good at "that kind of stuff" (kwim?) and I made them the night before. I was SO happy, they turned out great! And the birthday boy was happy too, because he loved his cupcakes!
